Host Terms of Service

Host Terms of Service

HOST TERMS OF SERVICE

1. Introduction

These Host Terms of Service govern the relationship between Daittons (Pty) Ltd and any person applying to join or using Daittons Destination Support as a host.

By applying to become a host, completing onboarding, paying any applicable host fees or using the platform as a Verified Destination Host, you agree to these Host Terms of Service.

Daittons Destination Support is operated by Daittons (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa.

2. The Daittons platform model

Daittons Destination Support is a platform designed to connect visitors, students, professionals, families and relocating individuals with trusted local support in the destinations where help is needed.

The platform allows visitors to:

  • browse hosts by destination
  • post service requests
  • use Daittons Matching where available

The platform allows approved hosts to:

  • build a host profile
  • market destination support services in their city
  • receive direct enquiries from visitors
  • respond to suitable service requests
  • be considered for Daittons Matching opportunities where appropriate

3. Host status: independent Daittons Partner

A host listed on Daittons is an independent Daittons Partner and not an employee of Daittons merely because they are approved, verified, listed or paying for a host plan on the platform.

Daittons provides the platform, host visibility, verification structure, destination support marketplace and host opportunity framework. Each host remains independently responsible for:

  • the services they offer
  • the way they perform those services
  • their own conduct
  • their legal compliance
  • pricing discussions and arrangements with clients
  • taxes, licences, permits and obligations applicable to them
  • their own business decisions and service outcomes

Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, partnership in the legal sense, agency relationship, joint venture or authority for the host to bind Daittons, unless Daittons expressly agrees otherwise in writing for a specific arrangement.

4. Host application and approval

A person does not become a Daittons host merely by applying. Host status is subject to Daittons’ approval.

Daittons may request information, documentation, profile details and onboarding materials before deciding whether to approve an applicant as a Verified Destination Host.

Approval is at Daittons’ discretion, and Daittons may approve, decline, delay, suspend or withdraw host access where it considers this necessary for trust, platform fit, legal, safety or commercial reasons.

5. Verification and onboarding

Daittons may require hosts to complete a verification and onboarding process before approval and may require further verification from time to time after approval.

Depending on the host role, services offered and Daittons’ requirements, verification or onboarding may include:

  • identity verification
  • criminal record-related screening or supporting documentation where applicable
  • role suitability assessment
  • contact and profile verification
  • reference checks where relevant
  • submission of service, destination and availability information
  • acceptance of host rules, platform standards and applicable policies

Verification is intended to support trust and platform quality. It does not make a host an employee of Daittons and does not guarantee ongoing approval.

6. Host levels

Daittons may offer different host levels on the platform, including:

Standard Host

A verified host approved to market destination support services through the platform.

Elite Host

A higher-tier host category with stronger positioning on the platform and an Elite badge displayed on the host’s profile, subject to Daittons’ approval criteria and ongoing standards.

Daittons may change the features, criteria, visibility or structure of any host level at any time.

7. Host subscription plans and fees

Daittons may charge hosts fees relating to verification, onboarding, subscriptions, host plans, listing benefits or other platform features.

This may include:

  • a verification fee
  • monthly, quarterly, annual or promotional host subscription fees
  • different fees or plan structures for Standard Hosts and Elite Hosts
  • launch offers, discounts or promotional access periods

Unless Daittons expressly states otherwise, host fees paid to Daittons relate to platform participation, visibility, verification, onboarding or related platform benefits and do not purchase employment, guaranteed work or guaranteed earnings.

8. No guarantee of work, leads or income

Daittons gives approved hosts an opportunity to market their services and position themselves for destination support opportunities, but Daittons does not guarantee:

  • bookings
  • lead volume
  • service requests
  • matching referrals
  • minimum income
  • earnings level
  • destination demand
  • client responses

A host’s opportunities may depend on destination demand, profile quality, host level, responsiveness, pricing, trust positioning, visitor needs, competition and many other factors.

9. Host services and scope

Hosts may only offer services that Daittons permits on the platform and that the host is genuinely able, suitable and lawfully entitled to provide.

Hosts must not offer or imply services that:

  • fall outside Daittons’ permitted service scope
  • the host is not practically able to deliver
  • the host is not legally allowed to provide
  • create unacceptable trust, safety or legal risks for the platform

Daittons may limit, revise, suspend or remove particular host services, categories or profile claims at any time.

10. Pricing, fee guidance and direct host-client pricing

Hosts on Daittons generally charge visitors directly for the destination support services they provide.

However, Daittons may maintain a fee schedule and pricing guideline for hosts, including starting rates for specific services and different pricing guidance for Standard Hosts and Elite Hosts.

Hosts are expected to use Daittons’ fee guidance responsibly and in good faith. Final host pricing may still be negotiated directly with the visitor based on the actual service required, but hosts must not use pricing in a misleading, exploitative or platform-damaging way.

Daittons reserves the right to issue, update, refine or enforce pricing guidance as part of its host standards and platform positioning.

11. Daittons Matching and host participation

Daittons may offer a paid matching service to visitors known as Daittons Matching.

Where Daittons identifies a host as a possible fit for a matching request, the host may be invited or considered for that opportunity. Daittons is under no obligation to refer any host for matching opportunities, and hosts are under no automatic entitlement to matching work.

Daittons may take into account factors such as:

  • destination relevance
  • service fit
  • host responsiveness
  • pricing fit
  • profile quality
  • trust positioning
  • visitor preferences
  • urgency and complexity of the request
  • previous host conduct on the platform

12. Host profile accuracy and honesty

Hosts must ensure that all information submitted to Daittons or displayed on the platform is accurate, honest and not misleading.

This includes information about:

  • identity
  • contact details
  • city or destination served
  • services offered
  • experience and suitability
  • transport access or capabilities
  • qualifications, credentials or references where relevant
  • availability
  • pricing-related information where displayed

Hosts must promptly update Daittons where material profile information changes.

13. Host conduct obligations

Hosts must comply with Daittons’ Host Rules, Code of Conduct, Platform Standards and any other applicable policies communicated by Daittons.

Hosts must, among other things:

  • communicate professionally and respectfully
  • act honestly with visitors and Daittons
  • honour confirmed arrangements where reasonably possible
  • avoid abusive, exploitative, deceptive or unlawful conduct
  • respect visitor privacy and safety
  • avoid misuse of Daittons branding, verification or Elite status
  • provide only services they are genuinely able and suitable to provide

Serious or repeated breaches may lead to warnings, visibility restrictions, suspension or removal from the platform.

14. Direct service arrangements with visitors

Unless Daittons expressly states otherwise for a particular arrangement, the actual service arrangement for host services is generally made directly between the host and the visitor.

This means hosts are responsible for:

  • discussing service scope with the visitor
  • confirming timing, destination and expectations
  • confirming final pricing and any extras
  • carrying out the agreed service
  • managing practical service delivery issues
  • handling direct service-related obligations applicable to them

Daittons may still review complaints or intervene from a trust and platform oversight perspective, but Daittons does not automatically become the direct provider of the host’s service.

15. Payments

Unless Daittons expressly states otherwise, hosts are responsible for collecting payment for their own services directly from visitors.

Hosts must communicate clearly about pricing, payment timing, deposits, waiting time charges, cancellation implications and any agreed extras before support begins.

Hosts must not mislead visitors about payment obligations, create hidden charges unfairly or abuse the pricing relationship.

16. Taxes, licences, permits and compliance

Each host is solely responsible for understanding and complying with all laws, tax obligations, licences, permits, transport rules, business requirements and other legal obligations relevant to the services they provide and the destination where they operate.

Daittons does not assume responsibility for a host’s legal compliance merely because the host is listed on the platform.

17. Complaints, disputes and Daittons oversight

If a complaint, dispute or trust concern arises involving a host, Daittons may review the matter from a platform oversight, verification, complaint-handling or trust perspective.

Daittons may request messages, proof of payment, explanations, screenshots or other information from the host. Hosts are expected to cooperate reasonably with such requests.

Daittons may take action where it considers this necessary to protect visitors, the platform or the Daittons brand, including warnings, suspension, verification review, visibility restrictions or removal.

18. Suspension, restriction and removal

Daittons may suspend, restrict, downgrade, pause or terminate a host’s access to the platform at any time where Daittons considers it necessary for trust, safety, legal, commercial or platform integrity reasons.

This may include situations involving:

  • dishonesty
  • serious complaints
  • repeated unreliability
  • criminal allegations or trust concerns
  • misuse of the platform
  • refusal to cooperate with verification or complaint reviews
  • serious pricing abuse
  • conduct inconsistent with Daittons’ standards

Where appropriate, Daittons may also remove a host’s Elite badge or Elite status.

19. Intellectual property and use of Daittons branding

Hosts may not use Daittons’ name, brand, logos, verification language, Elite badge or platform reputation in a misleading, false or unauthorised way.

A host may refer to themselves as a Daittons Verified Destination Host only to the extent that this is true and permitted by Daittons while their host status remains active and in good standing.

Hosts must not represent themselves as employees, authorised corporate representatives or legal representatives of Daittons unless Daittons has expressly authorised this in writing.

20. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Daittons shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses arising from a host’s use of the platform, lack of bookings, visitor conduct, direct service disputes, cancellations, no-shows, loss of income, reputational harm or platform changes.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude liability where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

21. Changes to the platform and host terms

Daittons may change its platform structure, service categories, verification model, host levels, pricing guidance, host fees, matching processes, host rules and these Terms of Service from time to time.

Updated terms may be published on the platform and may take effect from the date specified by Daittons.

22. Governing law

These Host Terms of Service are governed by the laws of South Africa, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

23. Contact

If you need to contact Daittons about host onboarding, verification, host fees, complaints, trust concerns or these Terms, please use the contact details provided on the Daittons platform.

Final statement

Daittons is building a destination support platform that gives trusted local hosts an opportunity to earn through structured visibility, service requests and destination-based support opportunities. By joining the platform as a host, you agree to operate professionally, honestly and in line with Daittons’ standards.
